Spanish Drawings in the Hispanic Society of America.

MNAC- Museu de Art Nacional de Catalunya, March to June 2007
From the Golden Age to Goya presents a selection of over 80 works from some of the principal artists in the history of Spanish art in the modern age. Among the drawings in the exhibition are compositions by such outstanding artists as Francisco Pacheco, Vicente Carducho, Claudio Coello, Jusepe de Ribera and, above all, Francisco de Goya, by whom the public will be able to admire a large number of works.
In all, the exhibition provides the opportunity to take a look at a broad chronological period of the history of Spanish drawing, from the early works, dated at the end of the 16th century, to the later works of the first third of the 19th century. One of the most singular aspects of the show is the possibility visitors have of being able to enjoy observing works that, until their exhibition in the Museo del Prado and now the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya, had never before left the Hispanic Society of America, in New York.
