Global Sports Forum Barcelona 2011

The third edition Global Sports Forum Barcelona will be held in Barcelona from the 9 to 11 of March 2011 at the Palau de Congressos de Catalunya.

Officially supported by the City of Barcelona, the Global Sports Forum Barcelona is an exchange platform attracting a wide range of personalities related to the world of sport. Some of the speakers of this year event will be John Amaechi, psychologist, organisational diagnostician, New York Times bestselling author and social entrepreneur; Sergey Bubka, Pole vaulter who won a record six successive world titles, was one of the most dominant sporting figures of all time; Raffaele Guariniello, Public Prosecutor at State Prosecution Office at Turins Court; Hicham El Guerrouj, Moroccan former middle distance runner, credited by some as the greatest middle-distance runner of all time. The President of the Organizing Committee of Olympic Games 2016 Rio de Janeiro, Carlos Nuzman, and the former football player and winner of two Olympic gold medals and one silver medal, and two Fifa World Player award for the best world player, Mia Hamm will also be present.

This event will be the occasion for the Honorary Committee to reward 3 projects, selected by the Global Sports Forum speakers community. Each project will symbolize one of the following criteria:

Innovative: The project should be imaginative and ingenious; it should introduce changes and new ideas.
Sustainable: The project should be capable of being continued with minimum long term effect in order to allow its legacy for the future years.
Effective: The project should have an impact on the field and produce a decisive effect on the people’s lives. The nature of the project can be related to many fields.

Any project will be welcomed whether it is economic, political, philanthropic, social, cultural, or business oriented.
The 3 winning projects will be highlighted during the Forum as well as after the event through the communication platform (website and social media) and media partners.
The winners will also be supported by the Havas Group, through consulting missions, in order to develop the marketing and communication strategy of the project.
