22 Festival de Guitarra de Barcelona

From April 1st to May 21st of 2011 the annual edition of the Guitar festival will schedule more than 30 concerts related to the world of guitar, open to all tendencies from classic guitar to the most forefront artist with their different proposals in its 22 edition.
Different artists will take place in the Barcelona Guitar Festival, from well known Spanish names like: from the flamenco guitar world, Tomatito; from the Catalan contemporary music like performer and composer Toti Soler with classical training and influences of blues, jazz and flamenco; from the Spanish urban rock, player Rosendo Mercado with a 40-year career and 20 albums behind him or Lax’n’Busto, one of the oldest groups of Catalan rock, that will live one special moment in a concert at the Gran Teatro del Liceu, to celebrate the twenty-fifth anniversary of their long career playing together with the Orquesta de Cambra de L’Emporda, together with international names like Tony Levin, a bass virtuoso who has played with King Crimson, Alice Cooper, John Lennon, Pink Floyd and joins currently Peter Gabriel’s group, The Argentinean singer Sandra Rehder presenting her tango album “Tercera Patria” accompanied by two contemporaries tango men, the bandoneon player Pablo Mainetti and guitarist César Angeleri, or at the Palau de la Musica with his guitar the Oscar winner Uruguayan singer-songwriter Jorge Drexel.
The list is long and to mention two other names: Josemi Carmona presenting the album “Las pequeñas cosas” accompanied by popular names of the flamenco pop, and the Argentinean Ariel Rot in a solo concert accompanied with his guitar to celebrate 30 years on stage.
The festival will take place in Barcelona's best large music venues like the Gran Teatre de Liceu, the Palau de la Musica and L´Auditori Rooms 2 and 3 together with other small music venueslike concert Halls Sala Bikini, Razzmatazz, the Casino L´Aliança del Poblenou, Sala Apolo, Luz de Gas.
