San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011

San Miguel Primavera Sound 2011

The 2011 San Miguel Primavera Sound Festival this year will take place at the Poble Espanyol on May 25 and 29 and May 26 to 28 at the traditional location of the Parc del Forum on eight different stages.

San Miguel Primavera Sound presents a batch of confirmed artists for its eleventh edition like The Jon Spencer Blues Explosion, Caribou, Low presenting their new Lp and Money Mark.

The new wave of confirmations contains some of the names key to understanding music and its evolution during the decade ends, plus some of the poles of the musical history of the last forty years.
The legendary British band Pulp has decided to return to the activity in the next edition of San Miguel Primavera Sound after almost a decade without playing live. The long-awaited meeting has all the original members (Nick Banks, Jarvis Cocker, Candida Doyle, Steve Mackey, Russell Senior and Mark Webber) and Sheffield will play songs from all periods of his career.

The list of known artists continues with Dean Wareham playing songs by his band Galaxie 500, the ethereal electronic music of Seefeel, Autolux’s indie rock with hints of shoegaze, the post rock of The Album Leaf and the already classical visit of the most convincing power trio on the independent music scene, the Americans Shellac. The experimentation of Oneohtrix Point Never will also play on this stage, Phosphorescent with their rockiest album, the psychedelic drone of Lichens and the straightforward punk rock of Pissed Jeans.

There is also a long list in the section of promising newcomers: the electro-industrial intensity of Factory Floor, the spectacular live show of Islet, the psychedelic rock of the British band Wolf People, the twee pop of Tennis and the 90s indie revival of Yuck.
