Motörhead - The World Is Yours

To coincide with the release of their upcoming 20th studio album, The World Is Yours, Motörhead will embark on a UK tour in November 2010 and on a European tour in December 2010, being on stage in Barcelona on December 17 in the Sant Jordi Club concert stage.
The British  group Motörhead is a rock band formed in 1975 by bassist, singer and songwriter Ian Fraser Kilmister (the only  constant member of the band) , known mostly by his stage name Lemmy. The rock/heavy-metal band,  usually a power trio, had particular success in the early 1980s with several successful singles in the UK Top chart and the albums Overkill, Bomber, Ace of Spades, and particularly No Sleep 'til Hammersmith cemented Motörhead's rock reputation.
The sound of Motörhead is typically classified as heavy metal, even though, Lemmy dislikes the label, preferring to describe the band's music simply as "rock n' roll" and usually opening live shows with the line "We are Motörhead; We play rock and roll". Motörhead's approach has remained the same over the band's career with their appreciation of early rock and roll and the lyrics cover current topics as war, good versus evil, abuse of power, promiscuous sex, substance abuse, and "life on the road"
Motörhead current members of the band are Ian "Lemmy" Kilmister / vocals, bass, Phil Campbell / guitar, backing vocals and Mikkey Dee / drums, percussion.
Motörhead  will be in Barcelona in the Sant Jordi Club, a medium size concert space opened in 2007 equipped with the very latest light and sound equipment, used for concerts of small or medium capacity that can accommodate up to 3.000 people, that forms part of the Palau Sant Jordi Sports Arena complex on the Montjuic Mountain right next to the Olympic Stadium.

Peter Gabriel - New Blood Tour

About Barcelona

Peter Brian Gabriel (born 13 February 1950  Surrey) is an English singer-songwriter, soundtrack composer and innovator in visual presentation of music, music videos and digital methods of recording and distributing music. He became popular being the lead singer and flautist of the  rock band Genesis. Gabriel founded Genesis in 1967 with fellow Charterhouse School pupils Tony Banks, Anthony Phillips, Mike Rutherford, and drummer Chris Stewart..
After several years of success of the band Gabriel's departure from Genesis was the result of different factors, but mainly his stature as the lead singer, and the added attention garnered by his flamboyant stage persona, led to tensions within the group as Genesis had always operated more or less as a collective.
After leaving Genesis, Gabriel went on to a successful solo career. He published his first four solo albums (77-85) refusing to title any, and all were labelled Peter Gabriel, but his greatest popularity was achieved with the songs from the 1986 album called So.
In 1989, Gabriel released Passion, (soundtrack for Scorsese's movie The Last Temptation of Christ). For this work he received his first Grammy Award. He won two other Grammy Award  in 93 and 94  for the videos "Digging in the Dirt" and "Steam" respectively, and a fourth in 1996  for Best Long Form Music Video for his Secret World Live video. In 2008, Gabriel contributed to the WALL-E soundtrack with several new songs.
In February 2010 Peter Gabriel released his eighth solo album Scratch My Back. The album is made up entirely of cover songs including material written by David Bowie, Paul Simon , Lou Reed,  Arcade Fire, Radiohead, Regina Spektor, Neil Young,  Randy Newman and more. The concept for the record is that Gabriel covers songs by various artists and those artists in turn will cover Gabriel songs to be released on a future follow-up album called I'll Scratch Yours.
The New Blood Tour supports Gabriel’s album Scratch My Back and features only a 54-piece orchestra as the album has only orchestral instrumentation with no guitars, drums, or electronic elements that are usual attributes of Gabriel records.  The tour started in Paris March 22 going after to Berlin, London,  Montreal's Bell Centre, two concerts May 2 and 3 at the New York's Radio City,  and in May 7  at the Hollywood Bowl in Los Angeles.  Peter Gabriel with the New Blood Tour will be in Barcelona at the Palau Sant Jordi on September 29.

Pat Metheny, The Orchestrion Tour

About Barcelona

Pat Metheny will open then 21 Guitar Festival of Barcelona, on Febrary 21 in L'Auditori, presenting his new project, entitled Orchestrion, in which he develops a new idea: the "solo ensemble”. Metheny alone on stage offers a very special journey with a new technology developed through the work of a complete year, and that forms part of his last album, recorded in this format.
The Orchestrion Project is a leap into new territory. This project represents a recently developed conceptual direction that involves the merging of an idea from the late 19th- and early 20th-centuries with the technologies of today to create an open-ended platform for musical invention and performance.  "Orchestrionics" is the term that Metheny uses to describe a new performance method to present music alone onstage using acoustic and acoustic-electric musical instruments that are mechanically controlled using the power of modern technology.  The principle instruments, a large palette of acoustic sound-producing devices, have been designed and built to enable Pat Metheny to create his solo Orchestrion.
