The apartment

This spacious, very sunny, 56 m2 flat is on the 6th floor of  a building from the 70's with elevator. It has been renewed, refurbished and decorated with stylish comfortable and modern furniture for a pleasent stay in this Barcelona apartment.

Description of the layout:

• A nice bright spacious living room with comfortable sofas which opens up to a covered balcony with outdoor seating and wooden floor and some plants. The balcony has views over a school-yard and pre-school playground.   
• A large comfortable dining area with table and chairs for four people.  

• One large bedroom with lots of closet space and two single beds.  
• One small bedroom with futon style double bed.
• Complete bathroom with bathtub with shower fixtures and one half bathroom with toilet.
• Fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator and freezer, gas hob stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, coffee and tea pots, electric kettle and all necessary equipment for cooking.
• Double glazing and special laminated silence glass in windows.
• Colour satellite TV, radio CD, iron and ironing board, hair dryer.
• Central heating, air conditioning and ceiling fan.
• Wi-fi Internet Connection.* 
• Towels and bed linens are provided.
• Beach towels are not provided.
• Cot for babies upon request. Baby linens are not provided.
• Only one child under two years is free of charge.
• Apartment is self-catering self-service. Soaps, toilet paper and other personal hygiene items are not provided.
• Smoking is only permitted outside on the balcony.

The building:

Is a modern seven-story construction with elevator, located in the actual center of the city, near to two major and well known elegant avenues of Barcelona: "Avenida Diagonal" and "Paseo de Gracia" and to the treeline boulevard of Rambla de Catalunya.

Location:

In what was the frontier between the new development (circa 1820’s) of Barcelona, called “L’Eixample” (the expansion) and the old village of Gracia. The perfect place to enjoy the best of both worlds. On one hand close to all the modernist buildings, five minutes walking distance from Gaudi’s well known works on the Paseo de Gracia, specially “La Pedrera”, the first stop on any Gaudi tour in Barcelona; and all of the most elegant, upscale shopping in the city. On the other hand all the benefits and advantages of living in a small charming Old World town; complete with small town squares, local old style markets and little cafes and restaurants.
Being in the heart of Barcelona you are walking distance to nearly everything of interest in town and also very well connected with lots of buses, metro and subway lines.

Rates

Low Season: November 2nd to December 22nd 2011, January 8th to March 29th 2012 and November 4th to December 20th 2012.  

Normal Season: April 16th to November 1st 2011, December 23rd 2011 to January 7th 2012, March 30th to November 3rd 2012 and December 21st 2012 to January 5th 2013.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10.00 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 55.00 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 200.00 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 50.00 euros surcharge.
Late arrival fee: Arrivals between 21:00Hs and 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros; Arrivals after 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros. These surcharges must be paid cash on arrival.

Please note: Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible. 

*WI FI Connection: The owner of the apartment offers WIFI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT.

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

IMPORTANT: Please read and take notice of House Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

The Meeting Point

The meeting point for this apartment is in front of the same building.
Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).

We also had a very nice mid-day meal at AGAPE where there is an English speaking member of the staff. This is located on one of my favorite streets. I am finally getting around to letting you know how much we enjoyed Barcelona and the apartment. The location couldn't have been better.  We appreciated the updated kitchen and baths.
