The apartment

Lovely bright and comfortable 74m2 Barcelona apartment with a nice balcony for morning breakfast completely renewed, creating comfortable modern nice environments. The apartment is on the eighth floor of classic corner building from  the 70's with elevator, and can accommodate up to 6 people, with three bedrooms with double beds, one of them with exit to the balcony, and a bathroom with bathtub. Modern  and very well equipped with new electrical appliances and free Internet wifi connection. Due to the orientation and that it is on a high floor the apartment receives the agreable morning sun. It has everything to make yourself feel comfortable as in your home, and to enjoy your holidays in Barcelona.

• A comfortable dining area with extensible table and chairs.
• Fully equipped kitchen with large refrigerator and freezer, electric counter top stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, coffee and tea pots, electric kettle and all necessary equipment for cooking.
• One bedroom with a double bed, large wardrobe and exit to the balcony.
• Second bedroom with a double bed and clothes closet.
• Third bedroom with a futon style double bed and open wardrobe unit.
• Complete bathroom with bathtub with shower fixtures and bidet.
• Nice wide balcony with table and chairs.

  

• Colour TV, radio CD, iron and ironing board, hair dryer.
• Central heating, air conditioning in the master bedroom and living area.
• Double glazing glass in windows and electric blinds.
• Land line local normal phone calls only (No mobile or cell phones nor special numbers).
• Wi-fi Internet Connection.* 
• Washing Machine.
• Towels and bed linen are provided. Beach towels are not provided. 
• Cot for babies upon request. Baby linen are not provided.

The building:

Is a modern nine-story construction from the 70's with elevator. Corner building two blocks away from Gaudi's Sagrada Familia Church.

 

    

 

  

Location:

In the Eixample neighbourhood (the Expansion), whose development occurred in the middle of the 19th century due to the necessity to extend the city. Barcelona had been obliged to conserve its medieval structure because of the prohibition to build outside the city walls, but with the beginning of industrialization and the great density of population the medieval walls collapsed, and the city could expand. Walking distance to the Sagrada Familia Church and to many other buildings of the Modernist and Noucentista (Post Art Nouveau) styles, residential or public buildings from well known architects from the time like the Casa de les Punxes on Diagonal Avenue, or Casa Macaya, on Passeig de Sant Joan boulevard, both from architect Josep Puig I Cadafalch. Wide avenues with bike lanes and gardens, nice squares and shopping areas, bars, restaurants will complete the view of this part of the city.

 

  

 

Many nice restaurants in the area like Alkimia (1 Star Michelin), Gorria (Basque Cuisine).

And very well connected with buses and metro lines nearby to the other interesting sites of Barcelona, like the Gothic Quarter with the roman monuments, the Liceo Opera House, the Picasso Museum and the famous Ramblas, the beaches, the Montjuïch Mountain with the Miró Foundation, or the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and Exhibitions at Caixa Forum building also from architect Josep Puig I Cadafalch.  Using the Metro you can get to Plaça Universitat in ten minutes, to Plaça Catalunya in 13 minutes and to the Ramblas in 15 minutes.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

  

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10.00 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 50.00 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 200.00 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge:  For every set of keys lost there is a 50.00 euros surcharge.
Late arrival fee: Arrivals between 21:00Hs and 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros; Arrivals after 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros. These surcharges must be paid cash on arrival. 

Early check-out fee: Departures before 09:00 have a surcharge of 30.00 euros.

 

Check-out time: Check-out time in this apartment is no later than 10:00Hs.

Check-in time: Normal check in time in this apartment can be done from 15:00H onwards. If the apartment is available for check in (No previous check out on the same day) check in can be made with no charge from 9:00 to 15:00Hs.

 

Parking Space: Optional medium size parking place available for expert drivers, 15.00 euros per night. If you want to rent the parking with the apartment please indicate this in the comments area of the booking form.

 

Tourism Tax:  From November 1st 2012 there is a new obligatory Catalonian government tourism tax of 0.72 € per person per night, not included in the total to be paid for the rental, that is applicable and must be paid in cash on arrival or if you prefer it can be taken from the refundable damages deposit on departure. This tax is paid for a minimum of one night and a maximum of seven nights. Children under the age of 17 are exempt.

 

Please note: Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible.

 

*WI FI Connection: The owner of the apartment offers WIFI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT.

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

Sunny week in Barcelona while the rest of Finland is freezing at -25ºC. Was perfect for the whole family of three daughters: the Zoo, Aquarium, Sagrada Familia (at 9:30 in the morning no queue) and shopping, of course. The apartment was superb, functional, excellent location, everything we needed and lots of room. Ikea was also very cozy for us coming from the Nordic countries. Our two weeks here in Barcelona were wonderful. We went to a lot of places, but still there were some places that we couldn’t. This is an amazing city, with lots of things to do. The food was marvelous and we gained a few pounds. Although it was winter the climate was fair with very little rain. The apartment is just as described, in immaculate condition. Sra Montserrat was charming and gracious, helping us with lost luggage and taxi reservations.
