The apartment

On the fifth floor, with elevator, of a classic building  from the first half of the 20th century. Spacious old quarters have been refurbished for a more comfortable contemporary usage and decorated with stylish and modern furniture; resulting in a beautiful and very comfortable apartment.

Description of the layout:

• Spacious living area with two sofas and two arm chairs opened to one of the most well known tree lined boulevards of Barcelona.

• A large comfortable dining area with table and chairs for eight people.
• One big bedroom with a queen size bed (160 cm), an arm chair and a boudoir.
• One bedroom with double bed and closet space.
• One big bedroom with twin beds and closet space.
• One bedroom with trundle bed and closet space.
• Full bathroom inluding bathtub with shower fixtures and bidet.
• Full bathroom with shower.
• Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator and freezer, gas hob stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, electric kettle, coffee and tea pots, and all necessary equipment for cooking. 
• Washing Machine.
• Big colour TV, Stereo radio CD, iron and ironing board, hair dryers.
• Air conditioning and heating.
• Wi-fi Internet Connection.* 
• Wooden floors.
• Traditional wooden windows that open to the balconies.
• Bath towels and bed linens are provided.
• Beach towels are not provided.
• Cot for babies upon request. Baby linens are not provided.
• Only one child under two years is free of charge.
• Apartment is self-catering self-service. Soaps, toilet paper and other personal hygiene items are not provided.
• Smoking is only permitted outside on the balcony.

The building:

 Wide elegant building form the first half of the 20th century with the original elevator restored with the traditional glass and wooden cabin typical of the period.

Location:

Centrally located in what was the big expansion (L’Eixample) of Barcelona in the middle of the 19th century. The building is located in the new development of the city outside of the medieval walls on a beautiful tree lined boulevard (the Gran Via de les Corts Catalanes) next to the intersection with an important avenue (the Passeig de Sant Joan), and close to the Gothic Quarter and to the area that what was used for the Universal Exhibition of 1888 (known as the Ciutadella Park with the Zoo inside), the Catalan Parliament, and different buildings and monuments from different Modernist Architects of the time.
Walking distance to other important buildings from the famous Catalan Architect Gaudi in the Passeig de Gracia or his still unfinished church of la Sagrada Familia, or the modern buildings of the new Concert Hall L’Auditori or the new theatre El Teatre Nacional de Catalunya  or the Parc de la Estació del Nord, the park developed on what used to be a train station.

Rates

Low Season: November 2nd to December 22nd 2011, January 8th to March 29th 2012 and November 4th to December 20th 2012.
Normal Season: April 16th to November 1st 2011, December 23rd 2011 to January 7th 2012, March 30th to November 3rd 2012 and December 21st 2012 to January 5th 2013.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10.00 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 100.00 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 300.00 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 50.00 euros surcharge.

Check out time: Check out time is no later than 11:00Hs.
Late Arrivals-Early Departures Surcharge: Arrivals after 21:00Hs and Departures before 08:00Hs have to pay a surcharge of 30.00 euros (this surcharges must be paid to the receptionist in cash).

Please note: Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible.  

*WI FI Connection: The owner of the apartment offers WI-FI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT.

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

IMPORTANT: Please read and take notice of House Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

The meeting point for this apartment is in front of the same building.
Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).

My grandparents stay in the apartment has come to its end and as always they found their stay to be a marvelous one!
