The apartment

  

This spacious 60 m2 flat with one bedroom and two bathrooms is on the third floor of a completely refurbished old building from beginnigs of 19th century, in front of the Port Vel,l keeping the old charm and adding modern services as central air conditioning in the apartment and new elevator in the building. Beautiful views over Barceloneta, Port Vell and Maremagnum Area with parks in front of the building and close by many of the interesting sights of the Gotchic Neighborhood.

 

Description of the layout:

• A nice bright spacious living room with double sofa bed and the most impressive panoramic views of Barcelona.

• A large comfortable dining area with a big table and 4 chairs.
• One large bedroom with lots of closet space and two single beds.
• One complete bathroom with bathtub with shower fixtures and one bathroom with shower.
• Fully equipped kitchen with small refrigerator with freezer, electric stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, coffee and tea pots, electric kettle and all necessary equipment for cooking.
• Double glazing and special laminated silence glass in windows.
• Colour satellite TV, radio CD, iron and ironing board, hair dryer.
• Central heating and air conditioning.
• Bath towels and bed linen are provided.
• Beach towels are not provided.
• Cot for babies upon request. Baby linen are not provided.
• Only one child under two years is free of charge.
• Apartment is self-catering self-service. Soaps, toilet paper and other personal hygiene items are not provided.

 

 

 

The building:

 Is a brand new completely renovated six-story construction from the 1850´s with an elevator, located in the first line of construction in front of Barcelona’s classic pleasure craft docks “Port Vell”. The building forms part of a group of four blocks build at the same time, that have been declared protected National Monument called "Pòrtics d'en Xifré".

 

   

Location:

In the actual cross road between the Gothic, Borne and Barceloneta neighbourhoods. The perfect place to start and finish your day in Barcelona. On one hand close to all the major attractions related to the harbour, World Trade Center, Maremagnum, five minutes walking distance from Las Ramblas and all that it implies in terms of tourism, terraces, people watching, strolling etc. Situated between the old fisherman’s village of the Barceloneta complete with small town squares, local old style markets and little cafes and restaurants on one side and the extremely interesting and fashionable neighbourhoods of the Gothic and the Borne with all the benefits and advantages of a small charming Old World town on the other side, you are surrounded by things to do and see day and night.

 

 

Being in the heart of Old town Barcelona you are walking distance to nearly everything of interest in town and also very well connected with lots of buses, metro and subway lines including the tourist bus which has a stop right in front of the building.

Low Season: November 2nd to December 23rd, January 6th to February 10th and February 18th to April 15th.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

 

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10.00 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 55.00 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 200.00 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 80.00 euros surcharge.
Late arrival fee: Arrivals between 21:00Hs and 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros; Arrivals after 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros. These surcharges must be paid cash on arrival.

 

Please note: Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

 

The Meeting Point

 

The meeting point for this apartment is in Paseo de Colon #1 in front of the bank called La Caixa. (this is close to the corner of Via Layetana/Plaza Antonio Lopez and the main post office “Correos”).
Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).

  The apartment and location were everything we wanted and couldn't have been better.....The hop-on, hop-off Turistic bus stops across the street and is a great way to see the city. Payment for Bus Turistic can be made at a 10% discount online at barcelonaturisme.com. The ticket can then be picked up at either Terminal A or B at the airport where you must specify the date or dates you want to use the bus. The 2 day ticket must be 2 consecutive days.... Pat, NY
