The apartment

Nice corner apartment in Barcelona, spacious, very sunny, 60 m2 on the fourth floor in an elevator building, with four balconies with very special views over the craft port docks "Port Vell", the Maremagnum area and the Montjuich Mountain. It has been renewed, refurbished and decorated with stylish comfortable and modern furniture. One of three self-vcatering Barcelona Apartments with  amazing views in a newly renovated elevator building from 1840's that form part of a group of four blocks declared protected National Monument called "Pòrtics d'en Xifré".
 

Description of the layout:

• A nice bright spacious living room with one double sofa bed and the most impressive panoramic views, from the Olimpic Towers in the Olimpic Port, the Barceloneta Area, the Port Vell, the leisure Area of the Maremagnum, the Barcelona World Trade Centre to the Montjuic Mountain and the Columbus Monument at the end of the Barcelona Ramblas.

• A large comfortable dining area with a big table and chairs for four people.
• One large bedroom with views, lots of closet space and two single beds with bathroom with shower in suite.
• Second complete bathroom with shower.

• Fully equipped kitchen with small refrigerator with freezer, electric stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, coffee and tea pots, electric kettle and all necessary equipment for cooking.
• Double glazing and special laminated silence glass in windows.
• Colour satellite TV, radio CD, iron and ironing board, hair dryer.
• Central heating and air conditioning.
• Bath towels and bed linen are provided.
• Wi-Fi Internet Connection.*
• Beach towels are not provided.
• Cot for babies upon request. Baby linens are not provided.
• Only one child under two years is free of charge.
• Apartment is self-catering self-service. Soaps, toilet paper and other personal hygiene items are not provided.
• Smoking is only permitted outside on the balconies.

The building:

 Is a brand new completely renovated six-story construction from the 1840´s with a new elevator, located in the first line of construction in front of Barcelona’s classic pleasure craft docks “Port Vell”. The building forms part of a group of four blocks build at the same time, that have been declared protected National Monument called "Pòrtics d'en Xifré".

Location:

In the actual cross road between the Gothic, Borne and Barceloneta neighbourhoods. The perfect place to start and finish your day in Barcelona. On one hand close to all the major attractions related to the harbour, World Trade Center, Maremagnum, five minutes walking distance from Las Ramblas and all that it implies in terms of tourism, terraces, people watching, strolling etc. Situated between the old fisherman’s village of the Barceloneta complete with small town squares, local old style markets and little cafes and restaurants on one side and the extremely interesting and fashionable neighbourhoods of the Gothic and the Borne with all the benefits and advantages of a small charming Old World town on the other side, you are surrounded by things to do and see day and night.
 

Being in the heart of Old town Barcelona you are walking distance to nearly everything of interest in town and also very well connected with lots of buses, metro and subway lines including the tourist bus which has a stop right in front of the building.

Rates

Low Season:  November 2nd to December 22nd 2011, January 8th to March 29th 2012 and November 4th to December 20th 2012.
Normal Season: April 16th to November 1st 2011, December 23rd 2011 to January 7th 2012, March 30th to November 3rd 2012 and December 21st 2012 to January 5th 2013.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10.00 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 55.00 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 200.00 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 80.00 euros surcharge.
Late arrival fee: Arrivals between 21:00Hs and 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros; Arrivals after 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros. These surcharges must be paid cash on arrival.

Please note: Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible. 

*WI FI Connection:  The owner of the apartment offers WIFI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT.

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

IMPORTANT: Please read and take notice of House Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

The Meeting Point

The meeting point for this apartment is in Paseo de Colon #1 in front of the bank called La Caixa. (this is close to the corner of Via Layetana/Plaza Antonio Lopez and the main post office “Correos”).
Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).

We loved the apartment. It was very modern, spacious, and had a "homey" feel. Loved the views from the balconies that overlooked the marina. The location was definitely a plus. Very close to the post office, which was the perfect spot to catch a taxi. It was also directly across the street from one of the Tourist Bus pickups and only a 10 minute walk to the Rambla. June R

This was our fifth to Europe (previously to Tuscany South, Prague/Budapest, Venice and Greece). The apartments have all been comfortable, clean and very well located. The Harbour Palace III apartment was certainly one of the nicest. We especially enjoyed the great location and the terrific view of the harbor. Joseph
