The apartment

Comfortable, modern, spacious, interior one bedroom apartment, on the 6th floor of a renewed building from the mid-twentieth century in the Charming Passeig de Gracia Boulevard of Barcelona. The apartment has all you need and is in one of the most central places of Barcelona. One of the stops of the tourist bus is just in front of the building. Doorman in the building from 8:00 to 20:00 hours.

The building:

Is a rationalist ten-story building from the mid-twentieth century with elevators. It was build by La Equitativa-Fundación Rosillo, originally the Spanish subsidiary of U.S. Company The Equitable Life Assurance Society of the United States, for their offices in Barcelona. Between the sixties and the eighties the building's upper floors were fitted out as suites, apartments for people who were passing through Barcelona, and it was commom to see several theater actors in the apartments. The insurance company was liquidated in the 90's and the building was completely refurbished.

Location:

In the middle of the Eixample Neighbourhood (development of the city planned by the engineer Ildefons Cerdà and begun in the second half of the 19th century due to the necessity to extend the city when the medieval old walls were torn down) there is an area called the Quadrat d’or or Golden Square that became at the time the center of the new bourgeois, exceptional area of Modernist Architecture with most of the buildings designed and built at the end of the 19th and beginning of the 20th century. Private elegant bourgeois residences designed by a number of different important architects of the time providing a varied cross-section of Modernist style designs with interesting details on ceramic art, stained glass windows, wrought-iron work, relief’s, mosaics, wood work and statues. Some of the most important buildings located in this Area are Casa Batlló (Antoni Gaudí), Casa Lleó-Morera (Lluís Domènech i Montaner), Casa Milà (Antoni Gaudí) and Casa Ametller (Josep Puig i Cadafalch) all in the Paseo de Gracia Boulevard, and close in Aragon street the Building for Publisher Simon i Montaner (Domenech i Montaner) rehabilitated in 1987 to host the headquarters of the Fundacio Antoni Tapies. Some of these important modernist buildings have organized visiting hours. Just in front of the building there is what was called at the time the Block of Discord where the three important Modernist Architectes (Gaudi, Domenech i Montaner and Puig i Cadafalch) gave free rein to their imagination and created three unique buildings that reflect the personal style of each architect but the buildings standing together do not communicate to each other expressing much more  the personal interest and individuality of each work and this stands over the values of the whole Modernist artistic movement.
Actually all the area is full of art galleries, elegant shops, terraces, bars and restaurants.

Rates

Low Season: October 15th to December 23rd and January 5th to April 18th.

Normal Season: December 24th to December 27th, April 26th to April 29th and September 16th to October 14th.

 High Season: December 28th to January 4th, April 19th to April 25th and April 30th to September 15th.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

In July and August the minimum stay is of 4 nights.

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 50 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 200 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 80.00 euros surcharge.
 

General Check in time: Normal check in time in this apartment is from 14:00 to 21:00Hs. If the apartment is available for check in (No previous check out on the same day) and can be organized check in can be made with no charge from 9:45 to 14:00Hs.

Late Check in time: Late arrivals from 21:00 to 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros. Late arrivals from 24:00 to 07:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros.

Check out time: Check out time is at 11:00Hs.
Early Check out time: Early departures before 07:00 have a surcharge of 25.00 euros. 

Please note:  Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible.

*WI FI Connection: The owner of the apartment offers WI-FI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT.

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).
