The apartment

Big and spacious apartment in Barcelona, 160 m2, with three comfortable bedrooms, three bathrooms and a spacious modern design open kitchen to a big dining area with  table and sitting space for twelve people that has been renewed, refurbished and decorated with stylish comfortable and modern furniture; in an old buiding without elevator.

Description of the layout:

• A nice spacious livingroom with a double sofa bed and two exterior balcony doors.
• A large comfortable kitchen/dining area with table for up to twelve people.
• Three double bedrooms with closets, one with an additional double sofa bed.  
• One sleeping area with a double bed and lots of closet space and large card table/writing area. 
• Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator, electric counter top stove, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, coffee and tea pots, electric kettle, and all necessary equipment for cooking.
• Double glazing and special laminated silence glass in windows.
• Colour satellite TV, radio CD, iron and ironing board, hair dryer.
• Heating, air conditioning and ceiling fans.
• Two complete bathrooms with bathtubs with shower fixtures and a third complete bathroom with shower.
• Bath towels and bed linens are provided.
• Beach towels are not provided.
• Cot for babies is available upon request. Baby linens are not provided.
• Wi-Fi Internet Connection.* 
• Only one child under two years is free of charge.
• Apartment is self-catering self-service. Soaps, toilet paper and other personal hygiene items are not provided.
• Smoking is only permitted outside on the balconies.

The building:

 The building forms part of a specially protected architectural heritage residential compound, partially renovated, located in the old center of the city “Barrio Gótico”.

Location:

Situated in the heart of the old medieval town of Barcelona; a mix of charming, picturesque, old-world neighbourhood still relatively poor with its winding narrow and mainly pedestrian streets, small shops and famous traditional “tapas bars”, “tascas” and “tavernas” and recent influx of young liberal professionals, artists, university students and foreign immigrants with trendy and ethnic bars, restaurants and fashionable avant-garde shopping. Close to the Plaça Sant Jaume, a main square in the heart of the old town and still the administrative center of Barcelona, extremely well located for a tourist.

At only three blocks from the old docks, which are now the site of a great entertainment mall, the “Maremagnum” and the yacht and pleasure boat port. And at walking distance from the most interesting attractions that the city offers: Las Ramblas, Plaça Catalunya, beaches, the Picasso Museum, the Liceo Opera Theatre, the Cathedral, “el Borne” and the central shopping area, etc.

 Reloj Passage is a little side street just off George Orwell square and Escudellers street. Orwell and Escudellers are very well known for their day and night time commercial activity, with lots of shops, cafes, bars and restaurants. When constructed in 1856 the Passage contained the central offices, headquarters and the family residence of the owners of the most important Catalan Bank at that time. The one disadvantage is that the entrance and staircase of the building are rather shabby: it dates from 1856 and it looks as if it has not been painted since then. There are two subway lines (green and yellow) and many buses serving this area which can connect you quickly and easily to the rest of Barcelona.

Rates

Low Season: November 2nd to December 22nd 2011, January 8th to March 29th 2012 and November 4th to December 20th 2012.
Normal Season: April 16th to November 1st 2011, December 23rd 2011 to January 7th 2012, March 30th to November 3rd 2012 and December 21st 2012 to January 5th 2013.

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

Reservations that coincide with a Saturday night have a minimum stay of 4 nights.

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10.00 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 95.00 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 300.00 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 80.00 euros surcharge.
Late arrival fee: Arrivals between 21:00Hs and 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros; Arrivals after 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros. These surcharges must be paid cash on arrival.

Please note: Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible.

*WI FI Connection:  The owner of the apartment offers WIFI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT.

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

IMPORTANT: Please read and take notice of House Rules and Terms and Conditions.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

 The meeting point for this apartment is by the fountain in the center of the Plaza Real, close to the "Ramblas".

Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).

We, a group of eight people attended the welcoming Barcelona from 16 to 26 May 2011. Quite by chance came across on the Internet Ramblas Clock Apartment. This apartment in the heart of Barcelona (Gothic Quarter, 5 minutes walk from La Rambla). How are we lucky. Great apartment renovated, equipped with everything necessary. Near grocery stores, 10 minute walk to the metro station, 20 minutes to the beach. And in the kitchen, we cooked our favorite soup. Was drunk a lot of Sangria. Vacation was a success.
