The apartment

Comfortable recently refurbished spacious 100 m2, 4 bedroom Barcelona apartment, on the third floor of a building from the 70's in a residential area. The beds are a queen size in the main bedroom, double beds in two of the bedrooms and two single beds in the fourth bedroom.

Description of the layout

• A nice bright spacious living room with a comfortable sofa that leads to a covered terrace with views over the neighborhood school yard.
• A large comfortable dining area with extensible dining table and chairs for eight people.
• One large bedroom with lots of closet space, queen size bed and an arm chair.
• Two bedrooms with double bed and open wardrobe unit.
• One bedroom with two single beds and wardrobe.
• One complete bathroom with bathtub with shower fixtures. A second bathroom with shower stall.
• Fully equipped kitchen with refrigerator and freezer, electric counter top stove, oven, microwave oven, toaster, juice squeezer, coffee and tea pots, electric kettle and all necessary equipment for cooking.
• Washing Machine and Clothes dryer.
• Double glazing and special laminated silence glass in windows.
• Flat screen TV, USB, iron and ironing board, hair dryer  and Wi-fi Internet.*.
• Central heating, air conditioning.
• Wooden floors.
• Towels and bed linen are provided.
• Cot for babies upon request (baby linens are not provided).
• Only one child under two years is free of charge.
• Smoking is only permitted outside on the balcony.

The building:

Is a modern eight-story construction with elevator, located in a quite residential area with good services in the neighborhood.

    

Location:

 In the Eixample neighbourhood (the Expansion), whose development occurred in the middle of the 19th century due to the necessity to extend the city. Barcelona had been obliged to conserve its medieval structure because of the prohibition to build outside the city walls, but with the beginning of industrialization and the great density of population the medieval walls collapsed, and the city could expand. Walking distance to the Sagrada Familia Church from architect Antoni Gaudi, the Hospital de la Santa Creu i Sant Pau from architect Domenech i Montaner and other buildings of the Modernist and Noucentista (Post Art Nouveau) styles, residential or public buildings from well known architects from the time like the Casa de les Punxes on Diagonal Avenue, or Casa Macaya, on Passeig de Sant Joan boulevard, both from architect Josep Puig I Cadafalch. Wide avenues with bike lanes and gardens, nice squares and shopping areas, bars, restaurants will complete the view of this part of the city.

Well connected with buses and metro lines nearby to the other interesting sites of Barcelona, like the Gothic Quarter with the roman monuments, the Liceo Opera House, the Picasso Museum and the famous Ramblas, the beaches, the Montjuïch Mountain with the Miró Foundation, or the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya and Exhibitions at Caixa Forum building also from architect Josep Puig I Cadafalch.

Low Season: November 4th to December 20th, January 6th to February 21st, March 4th to March 23rd and November 4th to December 20th. 

Normal Season: September 1st to November 3rd, December 21st to January 5th, February 22 to March 3rd, March 24th to November 3rd.

 

In general there is a 3 nights minimum stay requirement.

 

During special events, fairs, congresses and holidays the apartments may have:

• a surcharge,
• a different minimum stay,
• an obligatory prepayment of 100% - (see Terms and Conditions).

Booking fee: 10 euros due to management expenses.
Cleaning service fee: There is an obligatory one-time fee of 70 euros for apartment-cleaning service at the end of your stay, not included in the above rates tables.
Breakage or damage deposit: The owner asks for a deposit of 200 euros as a guarantee for the flat (this absolutely must be paid in cash on arrival). The amount will be returned at the end of the stay if no damage has been done.

Lost key surcharge: For every set of keys lost there is a 80.00 euros surcharge.
Late Arrivals fee: Arrivals between 21:00Hs and 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 30.00 euros; Arrivals after 24:00Hs have a surcharge of 50.00 euros. These surcharges must be paid cash on arrival.

Check out time: Check-out time in this apartment is no later than 10:00Hs.
Check-in time: Normal check in time in this apartment can be done from 15:00H onwards. If the apartment is available for check in (No previous check out on the same day) check in can be made with no charge from 9:00 to 15:00Hs.

Early Check out time: Departures before 09:00 have a surcharge of 30.00 euros.

 

Tourism Tax: From November 1st 2012 there is a new obligatory Catalonian government tourism tax of 0.72 € per person per night, not included in the total to be paid for the rental, that is applicable and must be paid in cash on arrival or if you prefer it can be taken from the refundable damages deposit on departure. This tax is paid for a minimum of one night and a maximum of seven nights. Children under the age of 17 are exempt.

 

Please note:  Reduction of number of guests or of number of nights: These changes must be advised prior to arrival.
Once pre-payment has been made, which confirms a reservation, the reduction of the number of guests or of number of nights, will be subject to a 25.00 euros administration fee for the recalculation of pricing.
But if the number of nights or of guests is reduced between 7 days prior to the arrival and the arrival - recalculation of the price is not possible.
 

*WI FI Connection: The owner of the apartment offers WIFI Internet connection in the apartment free of charge. Any incidence or problem concerning the Internet service due to the communications company that provides it (such as connection failures, signals, router, maintenance, etc.) WILL NOT REDUCE THE TOTAL PRICE FOR THE APARTMENT. 

Internet information for guests travelling from USA and Israel: Wireless cards from USA and Israel may have incompatibilities in Spain.

Our main objective is for the client to have a good experience in Barcelona and to enjoy the stay. Clients MUST RESPECT the neighbours, as the apartment is in a residential block. No parties are allowed in the apartment, party outside. If the neighbours complain or the police is called it will result in immediate eviction without refund.

The meeting point for this apartment is in front of the same building.
Please remember that once in Barcelona you must call to organize the check-in (allow for approximately 30 minutes minimum).

This is the last day of a two weeks holiday – not a second too long.
We join all the superlatives about the apartment, which is nice, good quality, clean and convenient located - walking distance to most places in central Barcelona.
We have visited nearly all attractions; the most astonishing were Camp Nou, Sagrada Familia (very recommendable) remember to queue up at 08:30 to avoid long waiting time, Picasso Museum and Parc Güell.
Don’t miss going to the Font Magica near Plaça d’Espanya, go on a Thursday, Friday or Saturday evening where the beautiful and amazing light and water show takes place.
If you want to go to “the countryside” for a relaxing walk in a park with ponts, gardens in different styles and a maze made of high cypress, take the metro line L3, get off at Mundet and take a short walk up the hill to Parc del Laberint.
It has been two lovely weeks in Barcelona and in the apartment Travessera Barcelona Apart.

We had a wonderful time in Barcelona! The apartment was cozy and nice. Slept very well every night! No complaints whatsoever.
Summer solstice was awesome! We stayed here from June 20th – June 24th.
All three days were hot and sunny  J  We will definitely recommend to others! If you are looking for bars with great Guinness on tap go to: - Hogan’s on the Ramblas – Michael Collins next to the park by Sagrada Familia.
Papas bravas is the best tapas dish. (You can find it anywhere)

Barcelona is an amazing city full of so much culture + more interesting + creative art than many places in the world. The Picasso Museum is very educational and worth the visit, even if you are not a fan of Cubism  J Needless to say anything, Gaudi will leave you breathless. The bike tour through Ciclo is fun and worth the price. We just recommend going on one of your first days because you will visit the outside of many buildings that you will probably go inside of later in your stay. Celler de Tapas is the best tapas restaurant I found. Enjoy!
